Confined space winches attach to tripods or davit systems to raise and lower parts, materials, and personnel into and out of confined spaces. These winches are rated for carrying both materials and people or materials only. Those rated to carry people feature additional safety features, stronger components, and other design considerations that allow them to meet rules and regulations that cover the lifting and lowering of people. They can be used for vertical and horizontal entry points into confined spaces. These winches can be added to systems that use a standard self-retracting lifeline (SRL) to provide assisted retrieval if a worker becomes incapacitated and unresponsive.
